A spray bot sees a Staff Platform Engineer posting that mentions Kubernetes once in the nice-to-haves. It does not read the rest of the JD, does not know you have never shipped a Helm chart, and submits anyway — because submitting is the whole strategy. Three weeks later you get a two-line rejection and no memory of applying.

- Is this fully automatic apply?
- No. Assisted Auto Apply discovers and prepares. You must manually approve before anything is submitted. Silent auto-submit is not allowed.
- Why not let a bot submit for me?
- Blind submit burns reputation, mis-answers screening questions, and applies to weak fits. Approval keeps quality and control with you.
- What do I still do manually?
- Review prepared applications, fill missing answers, choose resume context when needed, and approve. You can also stay on manual apply mode and use the Chrome extension only.
- Does Greenhouse API submit run in production by default?
- No. ATS_API_SUBMIT_ENABLED defaults to off and dry-run defaults to on. Live POST still needs per-application approval and an audit row.
